Doors open, feet touch the ground, camera pans up to reveal the OG dudes suited and booted ready to kick ass! Ecto-1A blasts its way into the scene, hard handbrake turn. Siren gets louder, closer and blue lights flashing gets more prominent. Camera pans to the Ecto-1, lights aren't flashing, no siren. Scene ends.įast forward to final battle scene, instead of the guys just appearing from thin air like they did, we hear a faint Ecto siren. Ray is seen still in shock from his conversation with Phoebe, and has a moment where he knows he has to do something and grabs a set of car keys from the old, dusty drawer. Fast forward to Phoebe's phonecall to Ray. So here's where I think that final battle scene could've been improved: Egon took the Ecto-1 to Summerville, repaired it and used it for his work over there, while the guys continued using 1A in NYC. Therefore 2 cars existed, albeit one was out of service. The vehicle used for the Ecto-1 was a 1959 Cadillac professional chassis, built by the Miller-Meteor company. It was relocated to Summerville, Oklahoma for over a decade but was returned to New York City in summer 2021. The popular opinion states that either the Ecto-1 broke down in GB2, and that 1A was purchased as a rebranding replacement for the company in GB2, and Ecto-1 was put in storage. The Ecto-1 (also known as the Ectomobile) was the vehicle that the Ghostbusters used to travel throughout New York City busting ghosts and other entities. Now, a popular theory in the GB universe is that there was al least 2 GB cars, Ecto-1 and Ecto-1A (GB2).and Ecto-1B if you take in Ghostbusters: The Video Game into account. We know Ecto-1 was brought to Summerville by Egon, along with a lot of other kit, from NYC (which pissed off the other guys!). And I think I've found a way which would be awesome. So, I've been thinking of how this scene could easily have been improved. And that would be the way the original Ghostbusters just appeared out if thin air during the final battle scene! But the Ecto doesn’t have the landau top traditionally found on hearses, clearly has ambulance lighting on the roof when it’s. Yes, Miller-Meteor made both ambulances and hearses, and yes, the Ghostbusters deal with spooky dead things.
